Our Client, a large bank in the City, are seeking to employ an Analyst in Trade Services, Responsible for performing the due diligence and sanctions checking process within Trade Services, recording of same and any escalations to the CDD team.
Ensures all transactions are technically correct, completed within target deadlines and that all service standards are monitored and met.
Processing Letters of Credit, Guarantees and their respective amendments as well as ensuring all transactions are completed within target deadlines
-Ensuring that they fully understand and are applying the processes & procedures within their area. Responsible for ensuring that these processes & procedures are known by and followed by all staff within their team. Any breaches or deviations from processes & procedures are immediately escalated to the appropriate person.
-Ensures that an appropriate due diligence regime is maintained within Trade Services. Ensures that an appropriate sanctions checking regime is maintained with Trade Services. Ensures all necessary evidence is appropriately recorded and maintained. Close liaison with all key stakeholders in ensuring that both due diligence and sanctions checking is fully meeting the needs of the Bank.
-Acts as a subject matter expert in the associated area (in particular around enhanced due diligence) and provides guidance and mentoring to staff, including in relation to relative ICC rules.
-Responsibility for ensuring compliance with Bank requirements and liaising with counterparties in the relevant risk and audit teams, as necessary.
-Actively promoting and maintaining good relationships with all clients and counter parties, representing the Bank in a professional and positive manner.
-Oversees that all issues and escalations are resolved in an effective and professional manner.
-Ensuring required levels of accuracy and timeliness are maintained within the team. Ensuring the quality of data within the team is maintained to the highest level and is free from technical errors.
-Processing Letters of Credit, Guarantees and their amendments whilst ensuring all documentation is valid, accurate and viable in order to meet guidelines.
-Ensuring any issues are resolved efficiently and professionally maintaining a high standard of customer service.
-Ensuring that procedure and training manuals are kept up-to-date and reflect current processes and system capabilities (with particular emphasis on enhanced due diligence).
-Participates in any ongoing projects where required, for example the T24 implementation
Skills and knowledge:
-Qualified CDCS preferred but not essential (must be willing to undertake the CDCS exams ? perm role).
-Experience and knowledge of enhanced due diligence and how this applies in a trade finance context.
-Understanding of all aspects of banking relating to Documentary Credits and the associated risks including knowledge of ICC, URC and URR rules.
-Demonstrates a good level of understanding of the relevant aspects of foreign trade for the Bank.
-Strong communication skills.
-Solid understanding of banking systems and workflow platforms
