Trade Finance Operations Analyst

Our client a London based boutique merchant banking house, is seeking a dynamic professional to join their fast-growing trade finance team. The ideal candidate will play an active role in managing documentary flow of trade transactions, day-to-day risk-management of trades, as well as assist with process and infrastructure development. Responsibilities: ? Assist with due diligence on new transactions ? Assist on each transaction from inception to finalisation ? Interaction with clients and third parties ? Coordinate transactions with the import and export parties, freight forwarder and corresponding banks ? Management and checking of all transaction documentation ? Keeping the transaction databases updated ? Frequent reporting of status of each transaction under management ? Partake in designing and implementing new systems, including reporting processes where possible Skills and knowledge ? Strong technical knowledge of UCP600, URC522, Incoterms and SWIFT latest versions ? Experience with document checking, bill discounting, negotiating documents under letters of credit, transfer of letters of credit and assignment of proceeds, pre & post shipment finances, payments, collections, reimbursements and reconciliations. ? Exceptional problem solving and communication skills ? High attention to detail ? Ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders ? African trade finance experience preferred, but not essential ?
