Trade Finance/Services Supervisor

On behalf of our client, an international bank based in London are looking for a Trade Services Supervisor to join their Settlements Team. The purpose of the role is to acts as document checker, primarily second checking, with first checking undertaken as and when required, overseeing checks, signing and releasing of payments, unpaid items, collections and communications on all documents presented to the department, ensuring all transactions are completed within target deadlines. Key accountabilities: Ensuring that they fully understand and are applying the processes & procedures within their team including the checking, signing and releasing of payment and release documentation ensuring the correct compiling of currency positions. Acts as a subject matter expert in the associated area and provides guidance and mentoring to junior staff, including in relation to relative ICC rules. Responsibility for ensuring compliance with Bank requirements and liaising with counterparties in the relevant risk and audit teams, as necessary. Checking of Monthly Reconciliation of all documentary credit liabilities, and balancing of delay interest and advance facility accounts, as well as checking the daily Nostro reconciliation. Involvement in team performance management process. May be required to be involved with Checking, signing and releasing Letters of Credit, Guarantees and their respective amendments. Assist management in objective setting for team and performance review to ensure quality and performance is measured and reflects the daily workflow quality. Qualifications and Experience required: Qualified CDCS. Ability to communicate, train and guide subordinates. Solid understanding of all aspects of banking relating to Documentary Credits (and the associated risks) including knowledge of all ICC rules, including UCP, URC ISBP and URR. Demonstrates a good level of understanding of the relevant aspects of foreign trade for the Bank. Strong communication and people management skills.
