Our client, an international wholesale bank based in London is urgently seeking to recruit an experienced Trade Finance Analyst for their Trade Services team. The main purpose of the job is the involvement in the documentary checking process.
Checking of documents presented against Letters of Credit in accordance with relative rules and regulations ensuring the Banks standards are complied with in order to ensure the Banks position is protected at all times.
Processing and 1st signing and verifying payments, acceptances, deferred payments, discounts under letters of credit as well as payments under collections and reimbursements, all to agreed timescales.
Ensuring compliance with the Banks sanctions and due diligence requirements as well as liaising with other departments as and when required.
Acts as a source of reference to all clients and counter parties.
Ensures that customers receive an efficient and professional service.
Provides training and mentorship to new staff.
Ensuring any issues are resolved efficiently and professionally maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Calculating and reviewing commissions ensuring all fees due to the Bank are collected.
Involvement with processing of participations, syndications and back to backs.
Assist in managing department workflows
Skills and knowledge:
Minimum of 3 years banking experience including swift payments and general bank accounting.
Qualified CDCS CITF or CTFC required, or agreed to undertake within first year.
A Level or Equivalent standard and or Degree level education.
Detailed knowledge of documentary credits and all applicable ICC rules and publications
Strong communication skills with a high level of numeracy, literacy, accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledge of collections and reimbursements desirable
French or Arabic language skills desirable
