Our client has an opening for a Financial Accountant, to join them for a nine month contract on a hybrid basis (working one day a week from home and 4 days in the office)
The role holder will ensure the provision of high quality financial reports and analysis and will work within the finance team supporting accurate and timely execution of financial transactions and processes for internal/external reporting requirements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
? Preparation of annual statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP and deal with audit queries.
? Manage the processes and reviews of External Auditors monthly data/information requirements and the submission thereof.
? Preparation of management information, including daily reporting and monthly management accounts as well as providing insightful and robust financial analysis.
? Manage the processes around submission of Tax returns to HMRC, which include CRS/FATCA, Corporation Tax etc.
? Provide guidance and support of the Banks IT transformation projects.
? Assist in establishing and maintaining an effective compliance culture within the Bank for combating money laundering, terrorist financing and other forms of financial crime.
? Ensuring that treating customer fairly (TCF), principles are adhered to at all times.
? To provide assistance to the Financial Controller as required
? Any additional activities deemed necessary to facilitate the successful completion of the department objectives.
Knowledge and key skills:
? Part qualified or QBE Accountant (essential)
? 2-3 years finance experience in a banking environment, preferably a small Bank
? Excellent written and oral communication
? Experience of working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
? Ability to liaise with various areas of the Bank such as retail, credit, treasury, trade operations and compliance
? Excellent presentation and listening skills
? Decision-making capability
? Analytical thinking
? Self-starter with ability to learn quickly.
